Announcing The IT-Finance Connection Resource Guides
July 21, 2008
The IT-Finance Connection is launching a series of resource guides on various topics of interest to the corporate IT and telecom communities. Three–on VoIP, mobility/wireless and software-as-a-service–are up. About a half-dozen more are planned. These guides, in addition to The IT-Finance Connection podcasts, can be followed here.
The great good news is that there is a ton of information available on the Internet. The bad news? That there is a ton of information available on the Internet. The guides aim to make sense of that confusion.
With some exceptions, we are not linking to sites such as eWeek, InformationWeek and Tech Web simply because everyone knows they are there. Our position is that is a tremendous amount of valuable information elsewhere. The challenge–one with which we can help–is to highlight sites and blogs that are a bit more obscure.
The guides aren’t fancy or particularly deep: Each consists of links and brief descriptions. They will be continually be updated and serve as a good overview about what is happening in a particular area. In most cases, the overall sites–not just the specific story or guide to which we link at that site–are worth a bookmark.
During the next month or two, we will launch guides on virtualization, unified communications, storage, security, management and disaster recovery/business continuity. If you have any ideas on other guides–or any good links to put in existing guides, pls. contact me.
