Business process management (BPM) software is an enterprise technology that allows companies to understand, support and improve their core business processes. A company can use BPM to:
- Change a business process to make it more effective.
- Automate a process to improve operational efficiency.
- Analyze a process to identify opportunities for improvement
Whether the objective is to reduce costs, improve productivity,
achieve compliance, enhance agility or reduce risk, BPM software allows companies to quickly design, automate, manage, monitor and analyze the processes that drive the success of their business.
As a number of companies begin to realize that insight into core processes is needed to make informed decisions, many now consider BPM an important application for gaining true business intelligence. BPM software is increasingly being linked into existing BI systems to add greater context and enable real-time action to be taken on information.
BPM gives business managers greater insight into what is happening across the organization and empowers employees to be more productive and make better business decisions.
This podcast is a discussion of how BPM software is an integral component of BI. Laura shares her perspective on the importance of using BPM technology and its role in keeping business managers informed and able to make efficient, intelligent decisions that drive success and profitability.
About Laura Mooney: Laura Mooney is vice president of corporate communications for Metastorm – a global leader in Enterprise Architecture (EA), Business Process Analysis & Modeling (BPA) and Business Process Management (BPM) software.

Got something to say?

Good podcast about BPM
I have not yet sat in on the podcast so I will reserve comment on content. I will, however, present my concern openly about even talking about software for BPM when BPM may be altogther new to a business culture. Even with a biotech power like Genentech would have fallen flat if the Operational Excellence team had approached them about software before explaining why E2E business process development was of benefit to the business. I guess I still tread lightly when it comes to IT solutions that skew the natural balance between people, process and technology.
