Software-as-a-Service Resources
This resource guide, our third, covers software-as-a-service. SaaS, as it is commonly called, is a hot area. The logic is simple: Instead of a company housing and running applications and services at their site, the it simply downloads the applications from the Internet. This has several potential benefits, including the elimination of per-seat costs and reducing the size of staffs.
It is a bit of a leap, however, because the organization must surrender control over those applications and must rely on the stability of an outside organization. Done correctly, however, SaaS can be a big winner to organizations of all sizes. It is particularly attractive to small and mid-size companies.
