SAS BI: From Mainframe to Windows
May 30, 2008
Micro Focus, a provider of enterprise application management and modernization solutions, has helped Scandinavian Airlines modernize its business intelligence platform by migrating from a mainframe environment to Microsoft Windows.
Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has realized that, to be able to deliver near real-time scenarios for reporting and analysis, it had to modernize its business intelligence (BI) capabilities.
The carrier needed a data warehouse with desktop tooling that did not have to compete for mainframe resources and which analysts could use to quickly customize reports, rather than SAS having to rely on an expensive external vendor.
